I’ve been doing some thinking…
So, we are six expansion packs in when it comes to The Sims 3. The Sims had seven EPs, The Sims 2 had eight EPs, and with the large game sizes and demanding graphics, I cannot see EA going past eight expansion packs for The Sims 3. Yes, it is possible, but when thought about logically, it probably will not happen. There are so many things that this game is missing right now. We are missing out on sports, seasons, the college experience, and an Open for Business type of thing. They cannot get to all of these, they just cannot. So this means that we will be missing out on things that will make our games more fun and realistic. Quite frankly, I like Showtime, but I could have lived without it. I never use the careers, only a few of the objects. They also could have kept World Adventures, I never use it, well, I will be in the near future (hint, hint, wink, wink). Still, there is just so much that is missing from this game. The very things that are missing are what made The Sims 2 the awesome game that I fell in love with. I got bored with Pets and Showtime too quickly. I need something that will hold my attention for more than a few weeks. Please EA, step up your game a bit, for the sake of my sanity. – Quxxn

I agree with you Quxxn my Hard Drive has only 40 GB left because of the sims 3 I have all EP and SP and yes there’s no Weather, College etc etc EA is just making a fantasy SP and the Diesel SP I think EA says that The Sims 2 Open for business is the Sims 3 Ambitions. Bon Voyage is WA. I wish the Next EP is Weather or University. :]]]]
you possibly can do a WA Lp, that would be fun. and i agree with you Quxxn! the sims 3 is getting boring, they really should do more ep’s then 8, 9 or 10. but i cant predict that. p.s i dont have a youtube account, but i do have a sims 3 account, can i be in the CA Comunnity Lot.I really love to be in that contest, Because i love building. xx Joëlle.

You are so right, but i think EA will only take out 1 more EP, and if it isn’t seasons, then we, all simmers, will feel really disapointed. As you’ve said Sims 2 was and forever will be a great game! And i think Sims 3 isn’t that way! As you can see when The Sims 3 Store was released we were all excited cause we thought (well, I thought) it was going to be like a place where we could download more interactions and jobs for our sims, but they only released Premium Content, which from my view is really over-priced, and at the end The Store turned out to be a website were we could only download clothes and stuff for our sims, only that, NOT INTERACTIONS OR JOBS. From my opinion, EA just wants to finish with The Sims 3 game and start with The Sims 4, so that they can make SP and EP full of things that simmers want, not SP that we even didn’t want! Like Sweet Treats!
So.. Quxxn, this is my view for The Sims future and the brand, i hope EA makes an effort to put in their games the thing WE want!

I agree, I think they will do one more EP and one more SP. I’m just hoping for two more of each. Of course The Sims 3 Store is over-priced. I hate purchasing simpoints every month, it’s just that their stuff is so cute and tempting sometimes. Like the deep fryer and the ice cream maker. Those items are a great addition to the game. There are rumors that The Sims 4 is already in the making, I hope they make it more like The Sims 2. I understand that they want to do something different and keep things fresh, but don’t fix things that aren’t broken.
i love both sims 2 and sims 3 but EPs for sims 3 have been a bit lacking. i understand that it takes time to do these things and that sims 3 is high grafics but it will be better to give the fans what we want ( i don’t think anyone wanted something like the sweet treats stuff pack)

I like that they’re trying to come up with more original ideas, but I see what you mean. I need university and seasons. Only then will I be happy.
this is so true. like really if they ever make a sims 4 they should have the first one with like seasons and collage automatially. like ea should really make sims games a little more realistic like really. if it were more realistic it wouldnt get too boring half the time. -.-
I agree, because I’m not into all of the magic things. I like simple and real. I want to have it so that I am living another life through my sims.
I totally agree with this. I get so excited for all of the expansion packs, then I’m bored within a few weeks. They come with things(jobs especially) that require too much. Like singer, acrobat, daycare etc. I wish they would listen to the suggestions we have, because it is so obvious that we want college and weather. And this is random, but I think the towns need to have more people.(It sucks when you are a level 10 singer and only five people come to your gig)
I agree. I think there won’t be an Open for Business, that’s really Ambitions. I agree about Pets and Showtime, I loved them when they came out, but Pets became hassle and Showtime had so many glitches (especially in Starlight Shores). I think that maybe they’re intending we uninstall packs but I agree. Seasons is the next one rumored, apparently and E.A has talked about not bringing out Uni? Which sucks. Even with a good computer, after a while, playing sims with all eps is going to be impossible. If I’m honest, Generations is ace, but the interactions could have easily been added to an additional EP (because other than some cute interactions and a couple of items, the wasn’t much) and Showtime and Late Night could have easily been one.
If seasons comes out, I’m thinking about un-installing some of the expansion packs just to make room. I could play my game just fine if I un-installed World Adventures and Pets(even though I do like the clothes and furnishings).
even though it was expensive , if seasons comes out i’m uninstalling showtime- i liked it at first but its getting boring
Apparently 10 EPs and SPs were going to be released for Sims 3. Unfortunetly, they’ve already announced University is going to be left out. On the bright side though, we most likely will be getting seasons! Although people say that adding a weather aspect would be too draining on a entire town to run all at once, The Sims 4 (which is underway) supposedly has a larger neighbourhood with unpredictable weather each day – so it is manageable. Even though many aspects of The Sims 3 has been a bit of a let down, I doubt EA will rain on our parade (pun intended) when it comes to Seasons; which in my view as the most anticipated EP, will be the final Expansive released. Even EA knows that they will lose customers if they leave seasons until Sims 4.
agree, I got bored with the sims 3 so I’ve been looking up all these sims 3 challenges like the legacy challenge and have been playing them.

i never had my own copy of the sims 2 (i played my friends game) but even though the grafics aren’t amazing and there isn’t a create-a-style tool i still loved it ( i might go out and buy it soon). i love the sims 3 too but i do find it a little boring at times and wish they would add the things that made sims 2 great.

hey does any one know where you can still buy the sims 2 base game or a double deluxe pack because Game and Gamestation don’t sell it anymore.( im talking about places in the UK)
I don’t think many places sell just the Sims 2 base game. However, I know for sure that you can get the Double Deluxe off Amazon for only £7.23.
Funnily enough I was in the same situation a couple of weeks ago but I found CEX have old games including The Sims 2 so try that one.
I know Game doesn’t sell it online or it’s out of stock, but they do have the odd expansion in store. I’d go onto Amazon, if I were you.

The thing that bothers me about the Sims 3 is that with all of the EPs and SPs all installed and running well on your computer, the Sims is still awesome. I was having the most fun with my sims during Pets as this was when my game was not glitchy AT ALL. Ever since Showtime (which i do really enjoy) my game is constantly glitching and i cant seem to get any further than a second generation before everything goes to shit. Anither thing which really bugs me is that, on their own, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night and Pets ARE GOOD. Although i do not use World Adventures (because whenever i go abroad my sims ages glitch) these are fantastic expansions, which add good interactions to your game along with objects. However, i do think that Generations should of been appart of the base game, because lets be honest all of the interactions are generally what you would expect from a Sims Game. I also LOVE Showtime, however i think they could of just done MORE, the DJ skill is totes boring and they should of expanded on the Acting/Music careers somehow.
Rant over, i want University and Seasons. That would be sweet!

Totally agree with the Generations/Base game. Honestly, I use Generations a lot, but it adds little game play. Potions are okay, imaginary friends aren’t too exciting and other than that, it adds so little gameplay, but it’s still worth buying if you like your sims to interact. And it makes playing a child somewhat bareable.
I think there is set to be 10 Expansion Packs for The Sims 3, I figured out that going by the pattern they are currently trending, Expansion Pack 7 released October 2012, EP8 March 2013, EP9 October 2013, EP10 March 2014 and then that is when (I’ll assume) The Sims 4 will be announced and released.
The reason why I’m sure of this is because back when there were only two EP’s for The Sims 3, on the actual website if you edited the HTML link which ended something like /TS3/EP2 and changed it to either /TS3/EP9 or /EP10 it would say
“Oops!
404 – Page Not Found”
However if you changed it to a number beyond 10 then a different error message would appear. Although this is no confirmation it certainty seems plausible and I remember CurtisParody commenting on this also.

That is exactly right! EA doesnt do the same expansion pack again. They do knock offs of it. Like Apartment Life is Pets and Late Night. With only a few expansion packs left they better be worth $40.

They’re the exact three I want, Business, University & Seasons (Mainly Seasons) but assuming the next one is infact magic there is still space for 3 more if there is 10 EP’s.
I miss the little things from the sims 2. Like one sided crushes, slow dancing, the fact that apartments had multiple livable rooms, shopping for clothes, being able to buy different magazines and video games at stores, eating at restaurants realistically( being seated and waited on) the dates were more in depth. I love sims 3 but I wish they would have kept the little things.
The only problem with the sims2 was that the other sims in the neighbourhood didnt age as you played one family. That annoyed me to no end cause sometime I was over one family and just wanted to play their childs life out but its weird when they out age their parent sims. Also not being able to change the shoes… I think seasons was very average, college would have been better if, like I said earlier, the aging thing wasnt an issue. Open for business was lame, and I think the home careers in the sims3 are better. Still havent got showtime cause I no longer have a good computer :’(
But I definitely prefered the way the sims 2 looked. They all look too smooth n similar in 3.

EA is going to make a seasons EP for Sims 3, there are gonna be aliens and festivals and stuff too. there are also gonna be pool slides, temperature changes, costume parties, holiday parties, feasts, gift giving parties, pool parties, diving boards, sledding, the weather of course, online dating, slow dancing, blueprint building, kite flying, family holiday greeting cards, swimming in the ocean, caroling, snowball arenas, ice skating rinks, pie eating contests, fireworks, kissing booths, new worlds like Gothic Forest, Venice of the South, Dragon Valley, Alpine Meadow, Deep Jungle, and wild west. and there are gonna be alot more brands added too, like they already added Diesel, but then there’s gonna be stuff like North Face, Topshop, Abercrombie & Fitch, Seven jeans stuff like that. (I’m in the loop when it comes to EA making new EP’s)
When they start to make The Sims 4 I think that they should just take in feedback from the community and merge the base game with all the stuff packs and expansion packs into one ultimate game. Seasons, Pets, University all included in the base game. If its all included and released at once theres plenty to explore
